I Almost Threw Out My Keurig. It Wasn't Broken.
Every cup from my Keurig started tasting weak, flat, stale — so I unplugged it and stuck it in a closet. Then I learned the dirty secret of grocery store K-Cups: by the time a pod reaches your kitchen, it's usually spent months going from factory to warehouse to truck to shelf. The flavor oils are long gone. Some brands even over-roast to hide it.
The fix wasn't a new machine. It was fresh pods from Angelino's, a family-owned L.A. roastery that roasts, packs, and ships within 3–5 days — straight to your door, from 39¢ a cup. Over 1,000,000 happy customers. 50+ flavors, no subscription required, and 15% off your first order, applied automatically at checkout.

Denton County Lifts Its Burn Ban After a Week of Heavy Rain

Outdoor burning and outdoor cooking restrictions ended Monday.
Denton County commissioners voted on October 5 to lift the burn ban that had been in place since the end of August. The county fire marshal had recommended it during a stretch of extreme heat and drought, when no measurable rain fell for at least 30 days and local fire departments handled a run of grass, wildfire and structure fires in southern Denton County.
With about a week of heavy rain behind the county, the order is gone. Outdoor burning of combustible materials is allowed again, and outdoor cooking can resume without the earlier limits, which had required propane or natural gas devices that were fully enclosed. The same rain closed some roads with flooding, so check conditions before you drive. The county order is separate from any rules your own city may have, so ask your city if you are unsure.

LISD Promotes Jennifer Boniol to Executive Director of Student Services

A 16-year district veteran takes over a role that touches nearly every family with a student in a Lewisville ISD school.
Boniol has worked in the district since 2010 and most recently served as Director of Student Services. In her new role she oversees K-12 student discipline and appeals, enrollment support, behavior management plans, custody and residency matters, student transfers, Schools of Choice and Title IX support on campuses, and she maintains the Student Handbook and Student Code of Conduct.
She brings 25 years in public education, including time as an assistant principal at Lewisville High School and Liberty Elementary and as a teacher at Lakeview Middle School. Superintendent Dr. Lori Rapp praised her expertise, integrity and dedication to supporting students and campuses. The district did not say when the change takes effect.

🌊 Lake Lewisville Check
Lewisville Lake sits at 84.2% full, the latest reading posted, dated Tuesday, October 6.
The water is at about 518.57 feet, roughly 3.4 feet under the 522-foot conservation pool. That is essentially level with the 84.3% reading from Sunday and up from 82.4% a week earlier, so the lake is holding after last week's rain. It is still well below the 95.1% recorded a year ago.
Boat ramps, swim areas and Party Cove still have water, though shallow launches get trickier when levels are lower. Check city and Army Corps notices for any closures before you head out.
