Back to School Fair Is Today. Here Is What to Know Before You Go.

The LISD Back to School Fair is today, Thursday, July 30, from 3 PM to 7 PM at Hedrick Middle School, 1526 Bellaire Boulevard in Lewisville. The fair hands out free backpacks and school supplies to LISD students who need assistance heading into the new school year.
Registration closed on July 12, so if your family signed up, you are all set. Arrive earlier in the window if you can, since supplies are handed out while they last, and bring your registration confirmation if you have it.
The fair can still use hands on deck this afternoon. If you have a couple of hours free, you can sign up through the City of Lewisville's volunteer portal to help with set up, check in or clean up.
Vote for Lewisville's Civitas Sculpture Before Tomorrow's Deadline

Lewisville's Civitas sculpture has been named a Top 100 finalist for the 2026 CODAaward People's Choice Award, and voting closes tomorrow, Friday, July 31, at 11:59 PM.
Civitas stands outside the Tittle McFadden Public Safety Center and was created by artist Blessing Hancock. The piece takes its name from the Latin word for citizenship, and its surface is cut with words and phrases gathered directly from Lewisville residents and city employees, meant to reflect community, protection and belonging.
The CODAawards recognize art that is successfully worked into an interior, architectural or public space. Only the top two finalists become overall winners, so votes between now and tomorrow's deadline matter. You can cast a vote at codaworx.com by finding the Civitas entry and clicking the heart icon.

Old Town Farmers Market Returns Every Saturday Through October

Old Town Lewisville's farmers market is back every Saturday morning through October 3, running from 8 AM to 12 PM at Wayne Ferguson Plaza between Main and Church streets.
Vendors bring fruits and vegetables grown around the Lewisville area, along with bread, pasta and flowers. This Saturday is a good one to make a morning of it, since it lines up with the last day to turn in your library reading log.
The market takes one Saturday off later this summer, September 26, so keep that in mind if you are a regular.
