Early Voting for the November 3 Election Starts Monday in Denton County

Registration has closed, but you have 12 days to vote before Election Day.
Texas sets the early voting window by law, and for the November 3 general election it runs from Monday, October 19 through Friday, October 30. The voter registration deadline was Monday, October 5, so anyone who has not registered by now will have to sit this one out. Cross Timbers Gazette reports that southern Denton County voters will see federal, state and county races on the ballot, including a rematch for Texas House District 65.
If you plan to vote by mail, the application must be received by the county, not just postmarked, by Friday, October 23. Denton County Elections will post early voting sites and daily hours at votedenton.gov, and voters with questions can call (940) 349-3200. In 2025, Lewisville's sites included the Lewisville Grand Theater, The Vista, Castle Hills Community Center and Thrive Recreation Center, so confirm this year's list with the county before you head out.

Hudson House Is Headed to The Shops at Highland Village

Hudson House is under construction at The Shops at Highland Village, eyeing a fall or winter 2026 open date. (Micah Pearce/CTG)
The Dallas-based East Coast restaurant is targeting a fall or winter opening.
Hudson House, a Dallas restaurant group concept known for its raw bar, cheeseburger and a very cold martini, is moving into The Shops at Highland Village. It will take over the former Corner Bakery Cafe and pilates studio space at 3640 Justin Road, Suite 190, about 5,965 square feet in all, with leather booths, a large wraparound bar, a sit-down raw bar and an outdoor patio. It will be the brand's 12th location.
Parent company Vandelay Companies has said it is targeting a fall or winter 2026 opening, and Cross Timbers Gazette reported in June that a state filing showed construction wrapping up in November. An exact opening date has yet to be announced. Follow Hudson House's website and social channels for updates, and we will pass along the date once it is set. The restaurant is in Highland Village.

The parade also shuffles one other event. Our Productions Theatre Co. says tonight's Workshop Wednesdays session moves to the Lewisville Municipal Annex because of the closures, and participants should contact the company for the exact location.

🕰️ Trivia Day in Lewisville
The county's first cotton gin dates to 1867. The city's history timeline records that T. M. Clayton and George Craft built the first cotton gin in Denton County that year, back when farming drove the local economy and the town was still decades away from incorporating.

🌊 Lake Lewisville Check
Lewisville Lake is 83.5% full as of Tuesday, October 13.
The water sits at about 518.40 feet, roughly 3.6 feet under the 522-foot conservation pool. That is down from 84.2% a week ago and 86.1% a month ago, so the lake is still easing slowly. No advisories turned up in our check.
Boat ramps, swim areas and Party Cove still have water, though shallow launches get trickier as levels drop. Check city and Army Corps notices for any closures before you head out.
