🌊 Lake Lewisville Check
Easing to 96.3% full as of Tuesday, August 4, the latest reading from Water Data for Texas, down from 96.6% the day before and about 1.7 points below where the lake stood a week earlier (98.0% on July 28). That keeps Lewisville Lake a bit under normal summer pool (full pool is 522 ft) but well within the normal range for early August. No advisories are in effect, so boat ramps, swim areas and the Party Cove remain business as usual this week.

A Poe-Themed Tavern Is Coming to Old Town Lewisville

A new literary themed bar is taking shape a few blocks from Wayne Ferguson Plaza. Nevermore Tavern, inspired by the work of Edgar Allan Poe, is under construction at 170 W. Main Street, Suite 101, inside a remodeled 3,500 square foot space.
Permits filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation put construction running from early July into early October, which would put the tavern on track to open in time for the Halloween season.
Beyond cocktails, Nevermore plans to operate as a gathering spot for literary and horror fans, with book and poetry readings, trivia nights, Poe themed bingo, book signings, a lending library and regular live music. Local artists will also get wall space to display their work.

🕰️ Trivia Day in Lewisville
Back in 1946, a robber who held up Lewisville State Bank took off on foot, only to run straight past Lewisville High School. Members of the school's Farmers football team saw him go by, took off after him and helped hold him until police arrived. That same team went on to win the district title that season with a 10-2 record.
