🌊 Lake Lewisville Check
Running about 97.1% full as of August 1, just a touch below normal summer pool (full pool is 522 ft). Levels have eased slightly from the 97.8% reading recorded two days earlier, and no advisories are in effect, so boat ramps, swim areas and the Party Cove remain business as usual this week.

Last Day to Weigh In on Lewisville's $1.1M Federal Aid Plan

Lewisville residents have until today, Monday, August 3, to submit comments on the city's FY2026-27 Annual Action Plan, which lays out how the city will spend roughly $1.2 million in federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnership Program funds. The City Council will hold a public hearing on the plan tonight at 7 PM at City Hall, and any comments received will be weighed before the council gives final approval.
The city expects to receive $821,411 in CDBG funding and $373,536 in HOME funds. Recommended allocations include $123,200 split among social service partners such as PediPlace, Denton County Friends of the Family, and Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County, plus $533,918 for housing and community development projects including facility repairs at Journey to Dream and the Children's Advocacy Center for North Texas, restoration work at Alvin Turner Sr. Park, and a new pedestrian bridge at Raldon Park. The HOME funds would go toward preserving affordable housing units and rental assistance for seniors through a local nonprofit partner.
If you want your voice heard before the council votes, you can submit written comments today to Neighborhood Services Manager Elena Sheehan at [email protected] or 972-219-3780, or show up to tonight's hearing at City Hall, 151 W. Church St.

LISD Back to School Forms Open Today. Here Is What to Handle Before August 12.
Lewisville ISD's Back to School forms open today, Monday, August 3, in Skyward Family Access for returning students. The forms let families review and update emergency contacts, addresses and other student information, and campus assignments and bus routes depend on them being complete before the first day.
The first day of school for all campuses is Wednesday, August 12. Elementary schools start at 7:40 AM, middle schools at 8:15 AM and high schools at 8:50 AM under the district's new start times for 2026-27. Supply lists and the bus stop locator are posted at lisd.net/resources/families/back-to-school, and new families can begin enrollment anytime at lisd.net/enroll.
With nine days to go, this is a good week to knock the forms out early, before the pre-first-day rush hits Skyward.

🕰️ Trivia Day in Lewisville
Back in 1969, roughly 120,000 people descended on Lewisville for the Texas International Pop Festival, a three day concert featuring Janis Joplin, B.B. King and Led Zeppelin. For a few days that summer, a small stretch of Lewisville became one of the biggest stages in American music.
