Nevermore Tavern's Website Now Points to a November Opening in Old Town

The Poe-themed bar has slipped from its earlier October target, and there is still no exact date.

Nevermore Tavern, the Edgar Allan Poe-inspired bar and literary lounge going into 170 W. Main St., Suite 101 in Old Town Lewisville, had been targeting an October 2026 opening. Its own website now tells followers to watch for the announcement of an opening date in November 2026. The homepage does not give a specific day, and it does not mention a grand opening event.

That means the tavern is not opening this month. We will run a full story the moment an exact date or a grand opening party is announced, and we will list it in the Events section on its date.

📅 Date: Opening date not yet announced (targeting November 2026)

Le Ballet de Dracula Returns for Its Annual Halloween Run This Weekend

LakeCities Ballet Theatre's family-friendly Halloween production is on the calendar for Friday and Saturday night.

The Visit Lewisville events calendar lists Le Ballet de Dracula by LakeCities Ballet Theatre at 7:30 PM on Friday, October 16 and Saturday, October 17. The City of Lewisville has described the show as an annual fall Halloween ballet, an original work by Tom Rutherford with choreography by Kelly Kilburn Lannin, and as family friendly.

The listing we checked this year did not name the venue or ticket prices. Last year's run played at the Lewisville Grand Theater on North Charles Street, but confirm this year's location and buy tickets through the theater or the ballet company before you go. A different listing showed additional weekend showtimes, so check the ticket site for the full schedule.

The city's fall day of service is less than two weeks away.

For the Love of Lewisville is the city's community-wide day of service, when volunteer groups take on yard work, minor exterior repairs and park cleanup. According to the city, it helps single-family homeowners who have limited financial means, are disabled, are seniors or are veterans.

The city needs both sides to show up: volunteers ready to work, and homeowners who would like a hand. Volunteers can sign up at volunteer.cityoflewisville.com. For questions, or to ask about help for your home, contact Neighborhood Services grant specialist Bryan McBreen at 469-635-5258. We could not confirm an application or sign-up deadline, so do not wait.

🕰️ Trivia Day in Lewisville

Lewisville is named for the man who laid it out. In 1855, Basdeal Lewis bought the Holford land, the old Holford Prairie settlement, and laid out a town that he named for himself, decades before Lewisville became an official city.

🌊 Lake Lewisville Check

Lewisville Lake is 83.6% full as of Monday, October 12.

The water sits at about 518.41 feet, roughly 3.6 feet under the 522-foot conservation pool. That is down from 84.2% on October 5 and 86.3% a month ago, so the lake is easing slowly, and it is well below the 94.2% reading from a year ago.

Boat ramps, swim areas and Party Cove still have water, though shallow launches get trickier as levels drop. Check city and Army Corps notices for any closures before you head out.
