Today is the last day to vote for Lewisville's Civitas sculpture in the 2026 CODAaward People's Choice Award. Voting closes tonight, Friday, July 31, at 11:59 PM.
Civitas stands outside the Tittle McFadden Public Safety Center and was created by artist Blessing Hancock. Its surface is cut with words and phrases gathered directly from Lewisville residents and city employees, meant to reflect community, protection and belonging.

LISD Back to School Forms Open Monday, Here Is What to Handle Before Then
Lewisville ISD's Back to School forms open this coming Monday, August 3, in Skyward Family Access for returning students. The forms let you review and update emergency contacts, addresses and other student information ahead of the new year.
The first day of school for all campuses is Wednesday, August 12. Elementary starts at 7:40 AM, middle school at 8:15 AM and high school at 8:50 AM under the district's new start time order for 2026-27. Supply lists and the bus stop locator are already posted at lisd.net/resources/families/back-to-school, and new families can begin enrollment anytime at lisd.net/enroll.

One More Free Saturday Before the Bell: Farmers Market Returns, Reading Logs Due
Old Town Lewisville's farmers market is back tomorrow, Saturday, August 1, from 8 AM to 12 PM at Wayne Ferguson Plaza, with local produce, bread, pasta and flowers. It is also your last day to turn in a Library Destination Summer reading log for a free book.
With LISD back in session August 12, this is one of the last unstructured Saturdays of the summer. Make a morning of both while you can, the market runs weekly through October 3 (it skips September 26), and the library's Children and Teens desk can take late reading logs right up until closing Saturday.

Mosquito Spraying Continues as Lewisville Keeps Tabs on West Nile Activity
Lewisville continues targeted mosquito spraying after multiple traps tested positive for West Nile virus earlier this month. Crews have sprayed near the 900 block of Rachels Court and other core testing sites as part of the city's regular monitoring program.
The city offers free mosquito dunks for standing water on your property. Residents can request them from the Health Services team at 972-219-3776 or [email protected]. Peak mosquito season typically runs through August, so it is worth emptying standing water around your home this weekend.

🕰️ Trivia Day in Lewisville
When Lewisville incorporated on January 15, 1925, the vote passed by a slim 109 to 92. The brand new town council's very first ordinances did not touch roads or water lines, they regulated traveling medicine shows and capped automobile speeds at 18 mph.
